Here at the Capital Reformer we like to highlight restaurants from around the country owned and operated by people of color or that serve cultural cuisine. Traveling and food are complimentary of each other. There is something unique about eating cuisine a place is known for in that actual place. For each restaurant we want to answer a few questions for our readers:
- How is the atmosphere? — We discuss the neighborhood the restaurant is in, the layout of the venue, anything unique abut the seating, the history of the place and if there is entertainment, etc.
- What’s on the menu? — We talk about what each restaurant is known for and what their menus consist of.
- What did we order? — Our writers will let you know what they ordered and if it was good.
- How much did it cost?
- $ — $20 or less for two people
- $$ — $21 – $50 for two people
- $$$ — $51 – $80 for two people
- $$$$ — $81 or more for two people
- How do they rank against other restaurants? This is our rating system.
- Must visit — The food is so good you can’t leave the city without visiting this restaurant
- If you are in the area — The food is worth trying if you are in the area or there is something unique about the restaurant worth seeing
- Don’t waste your time —The food is terrible
